The Hotel de France is legendary in the history of the Le Mans 24 Hour race and a place of pilgramage for the enthusist. 

Aston Martin, Jaguar, Porsche and Ford all prepared their cars here prior to the race in the garage behind the hotel. Once prepared, the cars were then driven on public roads to the circuit, raced and then driven back to the hotel for celebrations. Stirling Moss, Caroll Shelby and Derek Bell are just a few of the famous drivers to have had their cars prepared here prior to the race. The bar is stacked with memorabilia and rare photographs of drivers and cars in "the golden age". 

No trip to Le Mans would be complete without a visit.
